Batik is an ancient art form using wax and dyes to create an image.

Batik has been Julia Silver’s passion since 1994. As the preeminent Batik specialist in the country, she has designed one-of-a-kind merchandise ranging from tanks, tees, yoga pants and tote bags-for her HiHo Batik label. Her clothes have been worn by musicians, starlets and socialites all over the world.

Julia’s first foray into the clothing industry came through her connections with rock and rollers like Widespread Panic, Carlos Santana and Ween. They were attracted to her colorful and innovative designs-especially her unique Batik process, which can be customized for bands, company logos and even individuals.

In September of 2003, Julia opened her worldwide headquarters in Miami’s trendy Biscayne Corridor neighborhood. The store will showcase Julia’s Batik designs as well as feature a wide array of funky, hard-to-find clothes, gifts and accessories. HiHo Batik will also serve as a destination where customers can even learn the Batik process and create their own fashion statements. What was formerly a wholesale business is now available to the discerning public.
